During our recent family vacation to Luxor, we stayed at the Philippe, drawn in by its proximity to key historical sites like the Luxor Museum and Luxor Temple. Conveniently, these attractions are within a pleasant walking distance, while a taxi or horse chariot makes reaching Karnak Temple straightforward for families. One aspect that stood out was the 24-hour police presence in the hotel lobby, which provided a reassuring atmosphere, especially for families. The staff were generally friendly, although we occasionally struggled to fully understand their English. Our children enjoyed the billiards table, a fun activity that offered some light-hearted competition in the evenings after our excursions. Having a dedicated space for leisure was appreciated, especially for our younger child, who was under 6. While the hotel’s amenities were satisfactory, its location near the temples and local market was its biggest asset. The Philippe provided a base for our adventures in Luxor, allowing us to explore both the culture and history of this magnificent city.
